Where should we go this weekend? I was born a Milanese, but I lived most of my life abroad from NYC to Paris—two dynamic cities with their own charm. But after I moved back to my hometown, it only took me a few weeks to remind myself of Milan’s most fantastic strength: it is the best-located city in Europe. We are just two hours from the Alps and the Ligurian coast, an hour from the big lakes, a short train trip to Rome or Venice, and a three hour hop to the French Riviera. Every European capital city—even London—is two hours flight away. This goes without even mentioning our proximity to fabulous sea destinations such as the Croatian coast, Sicily, Sardinia, or even Greece! The consequence is that the Milanese are some of the most spoiled citizens of the world; we have the most diverse and exciting collection of quick travel destinations, so we are a transient people often on the go. Speaking at a jewelry Maison about preciousness we realised that the ability to get anywhere easily and often, is truly invaluable. In hot pursuit of the Milano issue of our magazine, we thought we’d now show you what we Milanese do with our weekends.
Enjoy this issue and…have a nice weekend!
